Local Bazaar Fail

I find it interesting what the local's think of us. The vast majority of them are very friendly, and I think most of them really mean it. Granted, I know for a fact that some are just putting on a smile for our benefit, but that is for another post. One of the things that is most interesting about the locals is their false impressions of us. Your average Afghan is illiterate, so they are limited in their sources of information. This leads them to fill in the blanks in 'creative' ways. So I go to one of the on-base bazaars and this is what I find:

Yes, a Canadian and a Confederate flag both in the same statue. What's more interesting is the fact that the Canadian is painted over the etching of an American flag. My theory is that eager to sell trinkets to people from other countries, someone bought this and then painted over the American flag just ignoring the other one all together. That same day I went over to the Danish side of camp to see what the Danes were up to. This is the entrance:
That's a battle ax stuck in the viking shield. Those guys are a riot.
