Here’s a picture of the moon after the dust storm. It was slightly overcast (there are very rarely clouds out here at all), and there was still a ton of dust floating around in the atmosphere. The result was this striking halo around the moon. This is not glare on the camera lens, nor is it photo trickery. It was visible to the naked eye about 10 pm last night. To capture it I simply slowed down the shutter speed so that the camera could utilize the natural light.
