Back at Security, but in a holding pattern
Being the last day of the month, last night was my final night as corporal of the guard. Today, in turn is my first day back at security platoon, but I still do not have an exact place. I have neither moved back to the tent, nor have I been assigned to a particular squad. I will be back on IRT (Immediate Reaction Team) until a decision is made, but it is unclear if I will stay there. Apparently the number of Marines IRT is allotted has dropped since I left. Currently there is technically one Marine too many on the team, but that may not have bearing on weather I stay or go. I am aware that there is another squad that was lobbying to get me, but they are out on a mission at the moment. In the mean time I hope to run a quick mission or two with the old team, even if I'm just in the back seat along for the ride.
